Lawyer Kwabena Boateng wins Ejisu NPP primary

Kwabena Boateng, the second Vice Chairman for the Ejisu Constituency, has won the New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary Candidate position for Ejisu in the upcoming December elections.

Boateng received 394 votes in Saturday’s primary, defeating Helena Mensah who got 302 votes and Yaa Akyemaa Aboagye with 229 votes.

Former GFA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, who was hospitalized before the primary, only received 35 votes.

A total of 1081 delegates participated in the primary to choose among nine aspirants to represent the NPP in the by-election following the death of MP John Ampontuah Kumah in Ejisu.

The primary was not without controversy, as there were allegations of vote buying, double voting, and delegates attempting to take screenshots of their votes. Despite these issues, the campaign activities leading up to the primary were intense as candidates worked hard to secure delegate support.
