Let’s pass prescribed professional exams to excel- WAPCMLS Registrar Dr. Okara to lab scientists

Secretary General and Registrar of West African Postgraduate College of Medical Laboratory Science (WAPCMLS) Dr. Godswill C. Okara has urged medical laboratory professionals in West Africa to be interested in passing prescribed professional examinations to excel in their careers, achieve competitive advantage whilst upgrading their academic qualifications and exhibiting professional competence.

According to him, higher professional standards of performance, determination and focus are crucial to surmount challenges facing medical laboratory scientists within the West African sub region.

Speaking at official opening ceremony of 2021 Annual General and Scientific Meeting of the West African Postgraduate College of Medical Laboratory Science (WAPCMLS), Ghana Chapter on theme: Postgraduate Medical Laboratory Science Education and Practice in West Africa on Saturday, 17 July, 2021 in Accra, Dr. Okara said “Let pass prescribed examination to excel in our professional journey. There is the need for determination and focus as professionals to overcome our problems in the sub region. Where there is a will, there is a will”.

Dr. Okara has also urged laboratory professionals to adapt to change to enable all professionals develop without hindrances and roadblocks.

For Dr. Okara, “ECOWAS Authority desires nothing less than the best available professional standards comparable to any in 21st Century West Africa”.
