Mahama appoints Edward Bawa as Acting GNPC CEO

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Edward Bawa as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), effective Friday, January 17, 2025.

This appointment is made in accordance with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 10(2) of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation Act, 1983 (P.N.D.C.L. 64). The appointment is subject to the necessary advice from the Honourable Minister for Energy, in consultation with the Public Services Commission. This decision reflects the President’s commitment to ensuring strong leadership at the GNPC.

In a formal letter, the President congratulated Edward Bawa, the former Member of Parliament for Bongo, and wished him success in his new role. The announcement was made by Dr. Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President.
