Mahama’s economic record is abysmal- Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo has hit back at EX-President John Mahama accusing him of abysmal economic performance.

His comment follows Mahama’s recent claims that the Ghanaian economy under President Akufo-Addo was largely weak before the influx of Covid-19.

According to him, the economy under the NPP Administration has been at the theatre within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) due mismanagement of the economy.

But, in a sharp reaction, President Akufo-Addo says the 2020 NDC Flagbearer Mahama has a poor economic track records.

Speaking during his tour of the Oti Region on Thursday 10 September 2021, President Akufo-Addo said “Mahama has is not on a strong ground when it comes to the economy. His record was abysmal”.

“The Senchi meeting he is proposing was unmitigated disaster and if that’s what he wants me to do, I’m sorry, I need to spare the Ghanaian people that because aftermath of the Senchi consensus led him to IMF with problems. He couldn’t exit IMF, we had to come and exit closed to almost two years”.

Meanwhile speaking at a press conference, General Secretary of NPP John Boadu says the certer-right and conservative party is best placed to fix problems facing the Ghanaian, asking voters to reject Mahama’s desperate desire to return to the presidency.

Reacting to the EX-President’s “Do or die comments”, John Boadu attributed Mahama’s comment to desperate attempt to recapture power and lack of preparedness to monitor electoral processes at polling stations”.

“Incompetent and desperate Mahama should not be allowed to return to the corridors of power”, John Boadu noted.
