Morgan Heritage’s Lead Singer Peter Morgan is dead

Reggae band Morgan Heritage’s lead singer, Peter “Peetah” Morgan, has passed away on February 25, as confirmed by a statement released by the band.

The group announced the sad news, expressing their love and gratitude for Peter’s role as a beloved husband, father, son, and brother. They requested prayers and privacy as they mourn the loss of the 46-year-old singer.

Born in Brooklyn in 1977, Peter was a prominent member of the group formed by his siblings in 1994. His powerful vocals led the band to win a Grammy Award in 2016 for the album Strictly Roots. His contributions to reggae music with hits like “Don’t Haffi Dread (To Be Rasta)” and “Down by the River” will forever be remembered.
