Nana Bediatuo Asante is in stable condition in US -Presidency
Nana Bediatuo Asante, Secretary to President Akufo-Addo, is in stable condition at a hospital in the United States due to an illness, according to a statement from the Presidency.
Eugene Arhin, Director of Communications, released the clarification in response to media reports suggesting his health was poor.
Asante, who also holds the title of Ambassador-at-Large, accompanied President Akufo-Addo to the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York but did not return to Ghana with him.
On Tuesday, social media sparked various rumors about his condition, prompting the Presidency to address his health status with a statement on Wednesday evening.
STATEMENT ON THE HEALTH OF NANA BEDIATUO ASANTE, SECRETARY TO THE PRESIDENT
The Office of the President wishes to inform the public about the health status of Nana Bediatuo Asante, Secretary to the President.
Following the conclusion of the meeting of the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, in the United States of America, where he served as a key member of President Akufo-Addo’s delegation, Nana Bediatuo Asante stayed behind to conduct further government business.
He then began to feel unwell, and was subsequently admitted to hospital.
He is currently in stable condition and responding well to treatment.
According to the medical team, Nana Bediatuo Asante’s recovery is on track, and we remain hopeful for his swift return to full strength.
