NDC Regional Comms Officers applaud Mahama and commend Sammy Gyamfi

A unified front from the NDC’s Regional Communicators
In a strong show of unity and affirmation, all sixteen Regional Communications Officers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), along with their deputies, have released a joint statement commending former President John Dramani Mahama for his mature handling of recent developments involving party National Communications Officer, Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi.

Mahama’s leadership lauded
The officers praised President Mahama’s “inspiring leadership, wisdom, fairness, and statesmanship,” especially in his balanced response to the public discourse surrounding Mr. Gyamfi. His decision to acknowledge both the seriousness of the issue and the sincerity of Gyamfi’s public apology was highlighted as a model of thoughtful leadership. The statement noted that Mahama’s response “underscored the importance of accountability, forgiveness, and humility in public life.”

Defending a dedicated public servant
Turning their attention to Sammy Gyamfi, the officers strongly defended his actions, asserting that he acted with “misguided generosity rather than misconduct.” They emphasized his consistent dedication to the NDC and to national development, citing his leadership in establishing the Ghana Gold Board as proof of his vision and competence.

Celebrating grace under pressure
The statement also commended Gyamfi for his “calm, maturity, and dignity” throughout the episode, noting the recent withdrawal of a complaint against him at the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) as an endorsement of his character and integrity. According to the officers, this outcome is “a testament to his strength of character.”

Full support from the party’s regional ranks
Richard Kirk-Mensah, Dean of the Regional and Deputy Regional Communications Officers, signed the statement on behalf of the group. He reaffirmed their unwavering support for Gyamfi and their belief in his continued contribution to the party and to Ghana.

“We are confident that his commitment to Ghana’s progress and the NDC will continue to shine through his actions,” the statement concluded.
