New Dorma Church of Pentecost gets auditorium worth GHC 1m
A modern church auditorium worth GH 1,048,850.00 has been dedicated for the New Dormaa Church of Pentecost (COP) on last Sunday at Sunyani, in the Bono region.
The chapel has the main auditorium for worship and other auxiliary facilities including wash rooms, offices,visitors room, storage rooms and spacious car park among others.
Dedicating it, the Sunyani Area Head of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle James Gabriel Quardson, said the church believes in causing change in all spheres of the country for maximum impact.
He noted that it was the duty of the church to strengthen its congregation in the various assemblies with good Christian virtues, effective leadership, inculcating the fear of God in them in order to make impact in the world.
Apostle Quardson stressed that Christians everywhere must make impact with their Christ – like behaviour in the society, workplace, political field, family among others, so as to win people for Christ.
The Area Head stated that the church’s theme for this year, repositioning the local church for maximum impact in the nations (Colossian 2:6), buttressed that Christians could use their good moral lifestyle to impact their environment.
“the COP existed to establish responsible and self – sustaining churches made up of committed, spirit – filled Christians of good character who will impact their communities” he emphasised.
The New Dormaa District Minister of the church, Pastor Michael Osei – Appau, said the local church which was established in 1984 with few members, currently has 396 including 106 men, 290 women and 172 children.
He indicated that the church, which grew spiritually and in membership, were able to establish different local assemblies namely Quarter Guard, Kotokrom, Asuakwa, Low Cost, North Asuakwa, Barracks, Old Abesim, North Nkwabeng, Ewe and Frafra.
Pastor Osei – Appau expressed appreciation to Apostle Quardson, the Chief of New Dormaa, Nana Bretuo Barima Boampong, current and past Area Heads, District Pastors, Presiding Elders and other stakeholders for supporting the activities of the church.
The Chief of New Dormaa, who chaired the dedication service, thanked the Church of Pentecost for making impact in all sectors of the economy, for the socio – economic growth of the country.
Nana Bretuo Boampong admonished the leadership of the New Dormaa church to maintain the standard of the chapel through a routine refurbishment, in order to last longer saying that “Nananom are always behind the COP”.
