NPP group wants Ofori-Atta’s appointment revoked

The Alliance for Footsoldiers Advocacy (AFFA), a volunteer group affiliated with the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on the government to revoke the appointment of Ken Ofori-Atta as the Senior Presidential Advisor and Special Envoy for International Finance and Private Sector Investments.

AFFA argues that Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta, the only Finance Minister in the Fourth Republic to have faced public criticism for his handling of the economy, is not suitable for the new role. The group is concerned that appointing him amidst current economic challenges sends the wrong message to the Ghanaian people.

The statement from AFFA reflects the discontent among a section of the population regarding Mr. Ofori-Atta’s performance as Finance Minister. The group believes that these concerns are substantial enough to necessitate a reevaluation of his new appointment.
