NPP Primary: John Peter Amewu faces no opposition at Hohoe

A group of electoral area coordinators belonging to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from the Hohoe constituency recently presented a candidate nomination form for John Peter Amewu, who is currently serving as the Minister for Railway Development and Member of Parliament for Hohoe. Out of all the candidates, Amewu was the only one to submit the nomination form by the deadline, thus becoming the sole candidate for the NPP’s parliamentary primaries in the Hohoe constituency.

The chairman of the NPP’s Hohoe constituency, Anthony Kondobrey, expressed his confidence in Amewu’s impressive portfolio and proven track record. He believes that Amewu is the best candidate to ensure a victory for the NPP in the upcoming general election. Kondobrey recognized Amewu’s contributions to the constituency’s development, including economic activities, physical infrastructure, and human capacity building.

Samuel Azasu, the NPP Communications Officer for the Hohoe Constituency, extended an invitation to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to collaborate with the NPP during the election campaign to support Amewu’s re-election. Azasu appealed to the entire constituency, regardless of political affiliations, to stand behind Amewu and demonstrate their support for his continuous efforts as their representative.

Azasu called for unity and encouraged people from all political backgrounds, including members of the NPP, NDC, and CPP, as well as market women and chiefs, to join forces and rally behind Amewu. He emphasized the need for collaborative effort in maintaining Amewu as the representative for Hohoe.

The NPP is confident and optimistic about retaining the Hohoe parliamentary seat, hoping to increase their representation in the Volta region in the upcoming election.
