High-level visit reflects commitment to sustainable energy management

In a move that signals stronger collaboration within Ghana’s energy sector, a high-level delegation from the Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC), led by Chairperson Mr. Constantine Kudzedzi, paid a courtesy visit to the Ghana National Gas Company Limited (Ghana Gas) at the company’s headquarters, the Gas House.

The meeting served as a significant platform for both institutions to reinforce their commitment to transparency, accountability, and long-term energy sector sustainability.

A partnership built on accountability and trust

Mr. Kudzedzi, speaking on behalf of the PIAC delegation, commended Ghana Gas for its consistent adherence to PIAC’s oversight protocols. In particular, he praised the timely and accurate submission of reports—an act he described as “a cornerstone of sector-wide transparency and accountability.”

This endorsement not only affirmed Ghana Gas’s commitment to regulatory compliance but also highlighted the importance of institutional trust in managing the country’s natural resources effectively.

Leadership synergy: A meeting of minds

The PIAC team was warmly received by Ghana Gas CEO, Ms. Judith Adjobah Blay, along with her deputies Dr. Robert Lartey and Mr. Rene Nelson. In her remarks, Ms. Blay reaffirmed the company’s dedication to upholding PIAC’s oversight mandate, citing a “longstanding and productive relationship” with the Committee.

She emphasized that open dialogue and strategic partnerships are central to addressing complex challenges in Ghana’s energy space, particularly those surrounding efficiency, infrastructure, and regulatory coherence.

Shared vision for a transparent energy future

Both institutions underlined the mutual benefits of continued collaboration. The dialogue focused on key challenges affecting the industry, including operational efficiency, public engagement, and the strategic use of gas resources.

The renewed commitment from both parties is expected to drive forward-looking policies and practices that align with Ghana’s energy development goals.

Towards sustainable sectoral growth

The meeting concluded on an optimistic note, with both Ghana Gas and PIAC expressing their readiness to deepen institutional ties. This renewed partnership is expected to play a pivotal role in improving sectoral performance, safeguarding public interest, and ensuring that energy revenues are managed transparently and used effectively for national development.
