Publish your own ‘dumsor’ timetable –NAPO

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Energy Minister, has issued a challenge to those calling for a load-shedding timetable from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to create and publish their own proposed schedules instead. His statement comes in the midst of ongoing power issues in the Greater Accra Region affecting individuals and businesses.

Despite calls for a structured load-shedding timetable, ECG has reiterated its position against implementing one, citing the absence of an official “dumsor” situation and claiming that a timetable is unnecessary.

The opposition NDC and other prominent figures have been vocal in their demands for ECG to release a timetable, also urging the ruling NPP to acknowledge the current power crisis.

During the inauguration of the NPP campaign team in the Ashanti Region, Dr. Opoku Prempeh challenged critics to create their own timetable if they believe it is needed, questioning the purpose of doing so when ECG has stated that there are no plans for a timetable.

He emphasized that efforts are being made to resolve the power challenges being faced in the country and expressed confidence in addressing the issues in the power sector.
