Rev. Kusi Boateng suffers 3rd defeat

The Court of Appeal has rejected Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng’s application to restrain MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa from discussing him regarding the National Cathedral project. This was the third attempt by Rev. Kusi Boateng to take legal action against the MP, with previous attempts failing in the High Court.

The court found that the grounds of appeal did not meet the rules of the Court of Appeal and deemed them incompetent and inadmissible. Consequently, the application was dismissed, and the defendant, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, was awarded 3,000 cedis in costs.

Prior to this ruling, there was a dispute over the constitution of the new panel, which the court dismissed as “speculative innuendo.” The panel found no evidence to support claims that the panel was unconstitutional or biased, and the objection was dismissed.

The background of the case involves allegations of conflict of interest and criminal dealings surrounding Rev. Kusi Boateng’s role in the National Cathedral project. The MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, had raised concerns about impropriety and filed a petition with CHRAJ to investigate the matter.

Overall, Rev. Kusi Boateng’s attempts to legally restrain the MP and address the allegations against him have been unsuccessful so far.
