Doe Adjaho chairs CoS, Sophia Akuffo, Betty Mould-Iddrisu & others sworn-in

President John Dramani Mahama has officially sworn in former Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo along with 30 other esteemed individuals as members of the Council of State.

Among the appointees is former Parliament Speaker, Edward Doe Adjaho, who will serve as the Council’s Chairman.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Jubilee House in Accra on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. This event marks an important milestone in Ghana’s governance, with the new members set to offer valuable counsel and support to the President on a range of national matters.

The Council of State plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the country’s governance system remains strong and responsive to the needs of its citizens.

The newly appointed members bring a wealth of knowledge and experience across various sectors, including law, academia, business, and civil society.

The ceremony was graced by key government officials, diplomats, and representatives from different sectors of society.

Dr. Eunice Brookman-Amissah – Former Minister of Health (Central Region)
