Veteran Actor Mr. Ibu reported dead

Reports of the death of veteran Nigerian Actor John Okafor, also known as Mr. Ibu, have surfaced, with unconfirmed reports indicating that he passed away at Evercare Hospital in Lagos. The cause of death remains unclear and Mr. Ibu’s family and representatives have not yet made any public statements regarding the matter.

Similar rumors have circulated in the past, but according to Nairaland website, he passed away on Saturday, March 2. The legendary actor had been dealing with health issues since October 2023, undergoing surgeries that ultimately led to the amputation of his leg. However, he received treatment and was discharged from the hospital in early January this year.

Mr. Ibu, a native of Nkanu West Lagos in Enugu State, is survived by his wife and three children. In a May 2022 interview with Nigerian Vanguard Newspaper, he revealed that he had a near-death experience but was brought back to life by God despite the ill intentions of his enemies.

According to Mr. Ibu, his enemies were pleased with his illness, assuming he would not survive. However, he expressed gratitude to God for giving him a second chance at life and stated that his sickness taught him a valuable lesson. He reflected on his surreal experience during his illness, where he claimed to have seen deceased individuals on the other side.
