The Western Regional branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has extended heartfelt congratulations to two of its own, Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah and Hon. Dorcas Affo-Toffey, on their nominations as Deputy Minister of Health Designate and Deputy Minister of Transport, respectively. The party describes the appointments as “exemplary,” highlighting President John Dramani Mahama’s continued commitment to empowering Ghanaian women by appointing them to strategic roles in government.

In a statement signed by the Western Regional Communication Officer, Mr. Richard Kirk-Mensah, the regional NDC expressed deep gratitude to H.E. President John Dramani Mahama for acknowledging the potential within the Western Region by including its representatives in key ministerial roles. The party sees the nominations as a vote of confidence in the region’s leadership and competence.

Expertise for national progress

Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, a U.S.-trained surgeon, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Ministry of Health. The NDC is optimistic that her expertise will greatly support the sector’s agenda of expanding access to quality healthcare across the country. Her medical background, combined with a passion for service, positions her well to complement the sector minister in implementing transformative health initiatives.

Driving change in the transport sector

Hon. Dorcas Affo-Toffey, a two-term MP for Jomoro, is equally lauded for her nomination. Having garnered experience both locally and internationally, she is expected to bring innovative insights to the Ministry of Transport. The regional NDC is confident that she will work diligently to support infrastructural growth and modernize Ghana’s transport system in alignment with the President’s vision.
