The Western Regional Communication Bureau of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has issued an official statement congratulating Rear Admiral Peter Kofi Faidoo (Rtd) on his recent appointment as Chairman of the Governing Board of the Veterans Administration of Ghana. The Bureau described the appointment as a proud moment for the region and a recognition of Faidoo’s lifetime of service to the nation.

In the press release dated 14th July 2025, the regional chapter expressed profound gratitude to H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic, for the appointment. According to the statement, the selection of Rear Admiral Faidoo is not only a personal honour but also a testament to the President’s continuous regard for the Western Region and its contribution to national development.
A distinguished military and legal career
Rear Admiral Peter Kofi Faidoo brings an impressive track record to his new role. With 39 years of service in the Ghana Armed Forces, he climbed the ranks to serve as the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) of the Ghana Navy before his retirement in 2019. Prior to that, he held the role of Flag Officer Commanding the Western Naval Command, a position he held during President Mahama’s first term in office.
After retirement, Admiral Faidoo transitioned into private legal practice, demonstrating the same dedication and discipline that characterized his military service.
Pride of the Western Region
The NDC Western Regional Bureau highlighted Faidoo’s roots in the region, noting with pride that he is an alumnus of St. John’s School, Sekondi. His appointment is seen as a symbol of the region’s enduring contribution to national leadership and governance.
