Wa & Ejura Brutality: Re-examine institutional culture- Prof. Anning

Director of Academic Affairs at Kofi Annan International Peace Training Centre (KAIPTC) Prof. Kwesi Anning has called on Minsters of Defence Dominic Nitiwul and Interior Ambrose Dery to immediately re-examine institutional cultures of both the Ghana Police Service and Ghana Armed Forces.

The latest call from the renowned Security Expert Prof. Anning, follows riots control protocols and security breaches in Wa and Ejura coupled with existing unresolved, Techiman and Ayawaso West Wuogon bloody clashes resulting in the dead of many civilians.

According him, the reactions of social media users to the recent security breaches by men in uniform create uneasy calm and can escalate to a full-blown confusion in the country.

Speaking in an interview with African Editors, the renowned Security Expert Prof. Anning advised security sector ministers that “Re-examine the institutional culture of the police and the military. We must interrogate institutional culture and training in the military”.

“Let’s build collaborative institutions to dealing with the challenge “.
