WCQ2022: Ghana’s group rival South Africa hammer Zimbabwe 1-0 to top the group
Bafana Bafana of South Africa has defeated Zimbabwe in by alone goal in the world cup match in South Africa to move three points clear of Ghana who drew with Ethiopia earlier in the day.
A well determined South Africa began the match on a strong footing and got the breakthrough in the 26th minute through Teboho Mokoena who was won the man of the match award.
The rest of the minutes did not see any further goals as it ended 1-0 in favour of the home side.
South Africa now sits comfortably at the summit of Group G with 13points followed by Ghana with 10 points, Ethiopia follows with 4 points, and Zimbabwe with just a point.
Ghana now has it destiny in its way hand as they welcome South Africa for the last group match in Cape Coast on Sunday.
Just a win for Ghana means Ghana will seal through to the next stage of the qualifiers because of superior goals difference.
