We’ll run to court to compel police to protect the demo- NDC

The Youth Wing of the opposition NDC says they will hurriedly proceed to court to compel the police to protect them in their upcoming ‘A March for Justice’ protest scheduled for July 6.
This follows notification of the Greater Accra Regional Police to the opposition party that the peace officers are unable to provide protection for demonstrators due to covid-19 protocols imposed by President Akufo-Addo’s existing Executive Instrument.
A letter addressed to the NDC by the police intercepted by African Editors reads that” we’re not able to protect you because of covid-19 protocols. Be advised that EI is still in force and health is a critical reason in the Public Order Act”.
But speaking to African Editors on Friday 2 July 2021 in Accra, National Youth Organiser of the NDC George Opare Addo said “We’ll go to court to compel police to protect us. They cannot say they’ll not protect us”
