I will not apologise –Manhyia South Chairman to Wontumi
Richard Adjei Mensah Ofori Atta, the Manhyia South Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), also known as ‘Tom Tom’, has stated that he will not apologize to Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the party. This decision comes after threats of legal action by Chairman Wontumi over comments made by Mr. Ofori-Atta regarding the selection process for the NPP’s running mate.
Chairman Wontumi expressed frustration over allegations made by Mr. Ofori-Atta that he was involved in influence peddling in the selection of the NPP’s vice-presidential candidate. Wontumi gave Ofori-Atta a 48-hour ultimatum to either provide evidence to support his claims or retract and apologize.
However, Mr. Ofori-Atta has stated that he will not apologize to Chairman Wontumi and is prepared to face legal action. He indicated that he will wait for the ultimatum to elapse before deciding on the next steps.
