‘Your office needs dignity’ -Dr. Nii Moi jabs Bawumia over warped logic

Renowned Economist Dr. Nii Moi Thompson rebuked Ghana’s Vice President and governing NPP Flagbearer Dr. M. Bawumia for his ‘20% akonfem mathematics’ comments, stating that the dignity of the office that Bawumia holds requires a higher level of respect that he has not displayed.

Dr. Thompson emphasized and pointed out that Bawumia’s 70% rating for his achievements would not be enough to sway voters when compared to a candidate who achieved only 20% during their time in government.

At a Unity Walk event titled “It is possible” in Kwahu, Bawumia highlighted the NPP’s accomplishments and criticized the NDC led by John Dramani Mahama ahead of the 2024 elections. Bawumia listed various achievements such as international reserves, infrastructure development, and digitalization initiatives while questioning Mahama’s claim of superior performance.

Dr. Thompson’s response underscores the importance of maintaining a level of dignity and respect in public office, especially during political campaigns.
