Akufo-Addo extends Auditor-General’s appointment

President Nana Akufo-Addo has granted an extension of the Auditor-General’s tenure to Mr. Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu for the next two years. Mr. Asiedu was originally scheduled to retire on August 1, 2024, but will now continue in his role.

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia swore in Mr. Asiedu as the new Auditor-General on August 27, 2021, following his appointment. He took over from former Auditor-General Daniel Yao Domelevo.

Prior to his official appointment, Mr. Asiedu had been serving as Acting Auditor-General.
