Akufo-Addo sacks 24 DCEs

President Akufo-Addo has issued a letter on Friday, February 2, revoking the appointment of 24 District Chief Executives.

The President stated that this decision is in accordance with Article 243 (3) b of the Constitution and section 20 (3) (b) of the Local Government Act, 2014, (Act 936). The DCEs who have been affected by this move include Daniel Owuredu of Nkoranza North, Elizabeth Kaaki Mann of Ga East, Patrick Kumor of Weija-Gbawe, Alhaji Abdulai Adams of Pru East, and Dorcas Elizabeth Amoah of Nzema East. President Akufo-Addo has requested that replacements be nominated under separate cover. The exact reason behind their dismissal remains unclear.
