Akufo-Addo swears in 3 Supreme Court Justices

On January 3, 2024, President Nana Akufo-Addo administered the oath of office to three Supreme Court Justices, filling vacancies that arose from the mandatory retirements of Justice Nene Ofoe Amegatcher on February 3, 2023, Chief Justice Anin Yeboah on May 24, 2023, and Justice Jones Dotse on June 8, 2023.

President Nana Akufo-Addo congratulated the newly appointed justices—Justice Henry Anthony Kwofie, Justice Yaw Darko Asare, and Justice Richard Adjei-Frimpong—for their distinguished appointments to the highest court in the land, the Supreme Court. He commended their fulfillment of the stringent criteria for appointment outlined in article 128 clause 4 of the Constitution, including independent thinking, strong moral character, proven integrity, and impartiality. He proclaimed their appointments as well-deserved and fully justified.
