Covid-19: Funerals must not exceed 2 hours-Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo has directed that every funeral service in the country should not exceed two hours due to the third wave of Covid-19 .

Giving Covid-19 updates on Sunday 25 July 2021, the president indicated that we cannot afford to endanger the life of others with our recklessness. This with other factors have compelled government to put restrictions on post- event reception services.

“Funerals should not go beyond the 2 hour period “.

He also noted that  directive follows recommendations made by the COVID-19 Taskforce.

“The COVID-19 Taskforce, which I chair, has recommended that a second look be taken at the protocols that have been put in place for the holding of funerals across the country,” the President said.

Meanwhile, an astronomical third wave of Covid-19 has hit Ghana with 2,500 new cases recorded.
