Covid-19: Let’s adhere to safety protocols to reduce cases- Dr. Nsiah Asare
Presidential Advisor On Health Dr. Anthony Nsiah Asare has urged the public to strictly observe the Covid-19 safety protocols to reduce cases after Ghana’s death toll rose to 799 with 2, 247 active cases.
Ghana’s confirmed Covid-19 caseload currently stands at 97,130 and 94,349 recoveries as at July 11, 2021.
According to Dr. Nsiah Asare, the phenomenon where people are beginning to bend the rules and relax the safety protocols ought to stop to complement government’s efforts to contain, combat and prevent the spread of the infectious Covid-19.
Speaking in an interview monitored by African Editors on Sunday 11 July 2021 in Accra, the former Ghana Health Service Director-General Dr. Nsiah Asare said “We need to adhere to covid-19 safety protocols to help reduce cases. Ghana’s active cases now 2, 247”.
A new wave of the pandemic is beginning to blow in Ghana with the influx of Delta Variant of Covid-19 with Achimota Senior High School in Accra, recording over 134 cases since June 16, 2021 amid testing and temporary closure of the school.
Meanwhile, Dr. Nsiah Asare has revealed that government has already resolved land issues about establishment of eighty-eight (88) hospitals for take-off in August, 2021.
He noted that “We’re praying hard that government’s vision of making Ghana vaccine production center in West Africa is accomplished”.
