Covid-19: Akufo-Addo expresses fear over possible third wave

Covid-19: Akufo-Addo expresses fear over possible third wave

“We have no choice but to return to strict implementation of Covid-19 safety protocols”, President Akufo-Addo said.

In sharp rebuttal, former Member of Parliament for Adentan Constituency Lawyer Adu Asare insists “President Akufo-Addo must admit that he has breached his own directive and failed in observing the Covid-19 safety protocols which of course is a total disregard for the Executive Instrument he has issued. He must admit that he has failed Ghana”.

Contributing to the discussion, Adu Asare noted that “If President Akufo-Addo says we have let our guards down…he and who?

“I don’t trust Akufo-Addo’s utopian promises. He is noted for good speeches, preaches good and doing some else”.

Meanwhile, Bono East Regional Director of Ghana Health Service (GHS) Dr. Adomako Boateng is leading an advocacy for opinion leaders in Ghana to be fully engaged in community sensitisation to ensure absolutely compliance to Covid-19 safety protocols in containing, combating and preventing the spread of the infectious pandemic.

The latest advocacy by Dr. Adomako Boateng follows the rising cases of Covid-19 in the Region.

The Bono East Region has in three weeks recorded 106 new cases, a potential upsurge in transmission of the virus.

Speaking in an interview monitored by African Editors on Monday 26 July 2021 in Accra, Dr. Boateng said “Opinion leaders must assist with community sensitisation”.
