Ghana’s Deputy Minister of Finance, Dr. John Kumah, played a crucial role at the 9th session of the UK Ghana Business Council (UKGBC) meeting, representing Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.
Co-chaired by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and UK Minister for Development and Africa Mitchell Andrew Mitchell, the council focused on exploring trade partnership opportunities between Ghana and the UK. The meeting delved into key areas such as climate financing, business environment, market access, and private investment, with the aim of strengthening economic ties and promoting collaboration between the two nations.
Notable attendees included the Minister for Trade, K.T Hammond, and the Minister for Environment Science and Technology, Dr. Kwaku Afriyie, highlighting the commitment to exploring mutual interests at a high level. The meeting also saw the presence of High Commissioner Papa Owusu-Ankomah and CEO of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Henry Kokofu, demonstrating comprehensive representation from both countries’ leadership.
As a representative of Ghana’s Finance Minister, Dr. John Kumah signed the communique for the 9th session of the UK Ghana Business Council (UKGBC) on behalf of the Ghanaian government.
