Give NAIMOS enough resources to tackle galamsey -Eco-Conscious Citizens to Mahama

Ayekoo NAIMOS And Atronsu Activists

Environmental terrorists appear intent on destroying the Atronsu landscape and contaminating the Atronsu stream—the community’s only source of drinking water.

It is deeply troubling that the Atronsu 5, the dedicated activists safeguarding the Atronsu environment, are being prosecuted, while the environmental terrorists responsible for polluting the Atronsu stream are walking free.

In the past 72 hours, Atronsu activists have observed the arrival of four excavators. We are informed that clearing of the land for illegal mining started today 7th March.

NAIMOS was informed about the excavators’ arrival in Atronsu, and we applaud the team for acting swiftly. Arrests were made today 7th March and the excavators have been removed.

It is worth noting that groups such as Jema Anti Galamsey Advocacy Group (JAGA) are actively defending the environment. JAGA has achieved notable success under the strong and visionary leadership of Chief Nana Enoku Annor II and Father Dr. Joseph Blay.

Jema deserves to serve as a model case study for stakeholders, who could learn from its effective strategies in repelling environmental terrorists and apply similar approaches elsewhere.

We respectfully call on H.E. President John Mahama to ensure that NAIMOS receives adequate resources and equipment to effectively tackle the difficult mission of stopping irresponsible mining and halting the ongoing ecocide. Ghana stands on the brink of an ecological disaster— time is running out.
