Former D-G of UNESCO Amadou Matar-M’Bow is dead

African Editors sources have confirmed that the former General of UNESCO Amadou Matar-M’Bow and father of Pan African Heritage Museum (PAHM) Consulting Curator Babacar Mbow has died at the age of 103.

A short notice issued by PAHM on Tuesday September 24, 2024 said “Amadou Matar-M’Bow has passed. We regret to announce the passing of Our Elder Amadou Matar-MBow, former Director General of UNESCO and father of PAHM Consulting Curator Babacar Mbow”.

We regret to announce the passing of Our Elder Amadou Matar-MBow, former Director General of UNESCO and father of PAHM Consulting Curator Babacar Mbow.

He was 103. He died in his sleep in his home in Dakar, Senegal.
Babacar says we must ‘celebrate Matar MBow and not mourn’.
We wish Matar MBow a peaceful rest.
