GNAT, NAGRAT & CCT-Gh declare nationwide strike

Three teacher unions, including GNAT, NAGRAT, and CCT-Gh, have announced a nationwide strike starting on March 20 due to the Ministry of Education and Ghana Education Service’s failure to address their conditions of service. They stated that negotiations for a new collective agreement should have been completed by February 29, 2024, but were not. The unions also raised concerns about the lack of a functional scheme of service for teachers and the incomplete distribution of laptops to teachers by the government and GES.
