Jospong Group partners Austrian firm to provide sustainable waste management solution

The Jospong Group of Companies (JGC) has made a significant move in expanding its waste management services by entering into a major export agreement with an Austrian company, FIMA Industries GmbH.

This collaboration is set to facilitate the export of waste management services and equipment to international markets while promoting sustainable waste management practices and contributing to a cleaner environment.

Through its subsidiary, Zoomlion Nigeria Limited (ZNL), JGC has finalized a groundbreaking export deal with FIMA Industries GmbH, a well-known Austrian company specializing in green technologies and sustainable solutions.

This agreement signifies a key advancement in JGC’s initiative to broaden its waste management expertise beyond the borders of Ghana.

The contract was signed by Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, Executive Chairman of JGC, and Markus Maierhofer, CEO of FIMA Industries GmbH. The signing ceremony, held in Accra, was attended by the Foreign Affairs Minister of Austria and marked the official opening of the Austrian Embassy in Ghana.

This partnership aims to combine Zoomlion’s extensive experience in waste collection and management with FIMA Industries’ advanced technology and global presence to bring innovative and environmentally friendly waste management solutions to the region.

Mr. Maierhofer described the collaboration with Zoomlion as a significant milestone that would make a meaningful contribution to Africa’s waste management sector. He expressed the mutual desire to expand their impact and ensure sustainable development across the continent.

The partnership is expected to deliver waste management services and equipment to other countries in order to promote sustainable waste management practices and create a cleaner environment. It follows the successful completion and delivery of a state-of-the-art waste management recycling plant in Ghana.

This cooperation between FIMA Industries and Zoomlion Ghana showcases the commitment of both companies to excellence in waste management and aims to set a new standard for waste management systems in Africa.
