NPP Primaries: Gideon Boako unseats Freda Prempeh in Tano North

In a surprising twist, Dr. Gideon Boako, the spokesperson for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has defeated incumbent Freda Prempeh to become the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Tano North constituency in the December 7 election.

During the NPP primaries on Saturday, January 27, 2024, Dr. Boako received 444 votes, surpassing the incumbent who got 221 votes.

Dr. Boako’s win indicates a change in the political landscape in the Tano North constituency.

Now selected as the NPP candidate, Dr. Boako will concentrate on campaigning to secure victory for the party in the upcoming general election with the goal of representing the Tano North constituency in Parliament.
