Richard Ahiagbah, Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed doubts about the methodology used by Global Info Analytics in their data collection process.
A recent report released by the organization revealed that 65% of voters feel that Ghana is moving in the wrong direction. Additionally, the report claimed that 62% of Ghanaians do not approve of President Akufo-Addo’s performance, and 52% believe that the government has performed poorly.
The report also indicated that a majority of first-time voters are leaning towards the NDC and that floating voters are also shifting their support according to a new poll.
Mr. Ahiagbah, speaking on JoyNews monitored by African Editors, raised concerns about the accuracy of the survey results, stating that the methodology used was not robust enough to be considered credible.
He emphasized that the current political climate in Ghana is highly charged, with increased criticism of the government. This, he believes, may lead to skewed perceptions and misunderstandings of the survey questions.
Mr. Ahiagbah stressed that it is common for people to express dissatisfaction with the government of the day, regardless of political affiliation. He urged caution in placing too much emphasis on the results of the survey due to the potential for misinterpretation.
