A-Plus tackles Owusu Bempah over alleged NPP-thugs’ UTV attack

Political activist Kwame Asare Obeng known as A-Plus tackled Deputy National Communications Director of NPP Ernest Owusu-Bempah over the alleged attack on United Television (UTV). A Plus boldly mentioned Owusu-Bempah as the key suspect behind the invasion of UTV by thugs during live show.

A sudden incident that occurred at UTV’s evening program that aired each Saturday from 9PM to 12PM on the 7th October, 2023 led to the show being aired for about an hour during the introduction. MzGee, who is the host, suddenly changed her face whilst she was busy with the advertising section of the program. After a few seconds, the show went off and the background was violated.

According to the viral videos that circulated after the show went off shows that, some thugs stormed the studios of UTV demanding the musician who is a regular panel of the show for shredding the letter served to the management of United Television asking for reform of the program ‘United Showbiz.

A Plus fumed over the incidents. Angrily, he fished out Owusu-Bempah as the person who masterminded thugs to attack the station according to information he had gathered.

‘I am hearing it was Ernest Owusu-Bempah who sent the men here. That is what I am hearing and I am hoping it is not true’. A plus added

A Plus was very furious about the situation. He warned Owusu-Bempah that he is ever ready to face them if they want it that way.

If the information I am having is true then I used less than 30 minutes to organize 3 pickups full with boys while he used 2 weeks to get his thugs. A Plus challenged.

A Plus confidently told the Dept. communications director for the ruling NPP that, if a similar case happens again, he will organize boys to Ghana Gas to beat Owusu-Bempah up.

Later, the Ghana police service announced that the station had arrested 16 people towards the attack.

Following the incident, the national Communication Director for NPP Richard Ahiagbah visited UTV with an apology and also cleared the air that the party does not have any relation about what happened.

Director Ahiagbah stated that the leadership of the party NPP had a hand in the unfortunate attack.
