Parliament summons Black Star Captain over AFCON

Ghana’s Parliament has extended invitation to the Captain of the Black Stars Andre Dede Ayew to appear before select committee on Sports to explain the abysmal and poor showing at just-ende African Cup of Nations( AFCON) as they begin formal investigations.

The Black Stars of Ghana exited the AFCON 2021 in the group stage without a single win.

Ghana lost the first against Morocco, drawing with Gabon, and shockingly lost to minnows Comoros.

The results caused immediate reaction as the Ghana Football Association sacked the head coach Milovan Rajavac.

While a section of Ghanaians are also calling for the sack of some players in the squad.

The law making body and the representative of the people, Parliament has set 17th, 18th and 23rd, of February 2022 to start formal investigation into the awful performance from the stars after the hefty investment.

The players despite not winning a single match pocketed $20,000 as appearance fees.

Ghana is still without an AFCON trophy since they last won it 1982, and the wait continues.
