Prof. Opoku-Agyemang-top 25 NDC 2024 Manifesto promises

Running mate to NDC flagbearer John Mahama, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang said “I have been reflecting on the events from the launch of the Resetting Ghana Manifesto in Winneba and trying to pinpoint my favorite aspects. It is tough to choose key highlights as every detail holds significance”. Here are some of my favorites, listed in no particular order:

1. Women’s Development Bank
2. Free sanitary pads for female students
3. Improvements to the Free SHS program
4. 30% of political appointments dedicated to qualified women
5. 24-hour economy
6. National Apprenticeship Program
7. One Million Coders initiative
8. Rapid industrialization for job creation
9. Abolishment of the double track system
10. Ban on scholarships for political appointees
11. Construction of a children’s hospital and specialized fertility center
12. Development of modern hospitals in Bawku, Yendi, and other towns based on needs assessments
13. Establishment of a modern dialysis center in the Upper East Region
14. Youth Cocoa Farming Project
15. Realignment of the Exim Bank
16. Launch of Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL)
17. Removal of militia and vigilante elements from security agencies
18. Elimination of the E-levy, COVID levy, emission levy, and taxes on betting winnings
19. No academic fees policy
20. Free primary healthcare
21. Creation of the Soyaya Fund
22. Reduction of high Hajj fares
23. Revitalization of the Creative Arts Fund
24. Collaboration with the private sector to develop an ultra-modern recreation village with auditoriums for events
