Stay home from Thurs Jan 20- CLOSSAG to members

Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOSSAG) will from Thursday, 20 January 2022 begin a nationwide strike.

“We deserve better conditions of service now. From Thursday, 20 January 2022, everybody should sit at home, don’t come to work,” a statement issued by CLOSSAG and signed by its Regional Secretary Alhaji Apam Nuhu directed members.

The strike is in demand for better conditions of service for members of CLOSSAG from government.

According to the association, a favourable salary was presented to government last year.

However, government has failed to look at it, hence the decision to strike.

At an award ceremony and end of year meeting held in December 2021 in the Upper Denkyira East Municipality of the Central Region, Executive Secretary of CLOSAG, Dr. Isaac Bampoe Addo said: “We have waited long enough and can no longer bear the frustration and demotivation that characterise these obvious inequalities.

“The Constitution frowns on discrimination therefore we shall fight for what we deserve.”

The Regional Secretary has also urged members to lay down their tools if government fails to meet their demands by the beginning of 2022.
