NDC Western Region congratulates constituency election winners, calls for unity ahead of 2028

The Western Regional Communications Bureau of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has congratulated all successful candidates in the party’s constituency elections across the Western Region, urging them to promote unity, inclusiveness and teamwork as the party prepares for the 2028 general elections.

In a congratulatory message signed by the Western Regional Communications Officer, Richard Ernest Kirk-Mensah, the Bureau described the victories as not only personal achievements but also a renewed call to duty and an opportunity for the newly elected executives to strengthen the party’s structures and consolidate its political gains.

Winners Urged to Lead with Humility and Inclusiveness

The Western Regional Communications Bureau called on all successful candidates to demonstrate humility, commitment, discipline and a strong sense of responsibility in the discharge of their duties. According to the Bureau, the newly elected constituency executives must recognise that their positions come with significant responsibilities, particularly as the party works towards strengthening its grassroots structures and preparing for the 2028 general elections.

The Bureau further encouraged the winners to reach out to their opponents, embrace their ideas and work collaboratively with all party members, regardless of their differences during the internal electoral process. It stressed that inclusive leadership and cooperation would be essential in building a stronger, more united and formidable NDC capable of achieving its objectives in the next general elections.

Recognition for Unsuccessful Candidates

The Bureau also acknowledged the contributions of candidates who contested the constituency elections but were unsuccessful, emphasising that their commitment, courage and dedication to the party remain invaluable. It noted that although internal elections inevitably produce winners and losers, the broader mission of the NDC remains unchanged.

The Bureau therefore urged all unsuccessful candidates and their supporters to remain committed to the party and contribute meaningfully to its growth and development. It maintained that every member has a role to play in strengthening the party, adding that internal electoral contests should not become a source of lasting division but rather an opportunity to deepen democratic participation and reinforce the party’s collective resolve.

Unity Key to Victory in 2028

The Western Regional Communications Bureau underscored the importance of unity as the party looks ahead to the 2028 general elections. It declared that the victory belongs to the NDC as a whole and not to any individual, faction or group, calling on members to put aside their differences, heal divisions and unite behind the party’s common objectives.

The Bureau further urged party faithful to work together to consolidate the gains made in the 2024 general elections and position the NDC for a resounding victory in 2028. According to the statement, the party’s greatest strength lies in its unity, collective effort and shared commitment to its founding ideals and political aspirations. It stressed that the ability of party members to work together, despite differing opinions and interests, would be crucial to achieving success in the years ahead.

Call for Renewed Commitment and Grassroots Mobilisation

As the party begins a new chapter following the constituency elections, the Bureau called for renewed commitment, discipline and dedication from all members and executives. It emphasised the need for sustained communication, effective engagement with the electorate, grassroots mobilisation and strategic efforts to consolidate the party’s achievements in 2024. The Bureau expressed confidence that the NDC could achieve its 2028 electoral objectives if its members remained united, focused and committed to a common purpose. It maintained that the task ahead was enormous but achievable through collective determination, effective leadership and a shared commitment to victory.

“Eye Zu, Eye Za” — A Call for Collective Action

The statement concluded with a rallying call to party members across the Western Region to intensify their efforts towards strengthening the NDC and preparing for the next general elections.

“Together, let us communicate, engage, mobilise and consolidate gains of 2024 for victory 2028,” the statement urged.

The Bureau reiterated its congratulations to all successful candidates and encouraged them to see their electoral victories as an opportunity to serve the party, unite its membership and contribute to the broader objective of securing victory in 2028.

The statement was signed by Richard Ernest Kirk-Mensah, Western Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress.
