Call out wrongs being pepertuated by persons in govt-Mahama to Bono Chiefs

2020 NDC Flag-bearer Ex-President John Dramani Mahama has called on the chiefs of the Bono East Region to call out the wrongs pepertuated by persons in government.

According to him, although the constitution prevents traditional rulers from active, partisan politics, it does not mean they sit unconcerned and fold their hands when persons on the corridors of power are commiting offences together with their self seeking collaborators.

Speaking during thank you tour of the Bono East Region today, the 2020 NDC Flag-bearer Ex-President Mahama said “Nananom, it’s true that you can’t do active politics under the law, but if you don’t condemn wrongs being pepertuated by people in government, the burden will be yours to carry because it’s against your subjects”.

Mahama added that “Even in the colonial era chiefs were arbitors in matters. So, clearly you have roles to play”.

Ex-President Mahama has come under criticism for his latest “2024 elections will be a do or die affair at polling stations”.

In a sharp reaction, Deputy General Secretary of NPP said the governing party will not be intimidated by threats from Mahama”.
