Hearts to be crowned Super Cup Champions.

Hearts to be crowned Super Cup Champions.

Fans of Accra Hearts of Oak can beat their chest and say they have won treble because the GFA rules says any team that wins the league and FA Cup automatically becomes the Super Cup Champions and that the FA may organize a one-off match to present the trophy.

The Phobians won the league and the MTN FA Cup in the 2020-2021 season, hence, based on the GFA’s regulations, Hearts are super Cup champions: Domestic treble.

“The Champion of premier division league and the FA Cup competition, if not one and same club, shall play a straight knockout match and the winner shall be declared the super champions. In a event of the league champion being the same as the FA cup champion, that club shall be declared champion of champions. The GFA Executive Committee may, however, also organize a ceremonial match between the club and either the runners up in the FA cup final or the league for the purpose of awarding then trophy. The rules says.

Hearts of Oak has been without a major trophy for 12years. They came into the 2020-2021 season not as favourite, but they defied all odds and won the the league and the FA Cup and now super Cup champions.
