Video of Xavier-Sosu asking protestors not to block roads pops up
A video has emerged showing the Member of Parliament for Madina Francis Xavier Kojo Sosu appealing demonstrators not to block roads during the protest he led his constituents to embark on over deplorable roads.
The Human Rights Lawyer Xavier-Sosu has been charged for obstructing highway and causing damage to public property.
On October 25, the MP led his constituents to embark on demontration over bad roads in his constituency.
Lawyer Xavier-Sosu has escaped arrest twice after the police stormed his church to put him behind bars over allegations of blocking roads and damaging public property but failed after Minority Chief Whip whisked him away.
Be that as it may, in this new video appears to a hard core evidence against obstructing of roads charges by the police, Xavier-Sosu was seen appealing to constituents never to block roads during the demontration.
Xavier-Sosu was found in the video saying, “… When we are doing a demontration, when the aim is I need to impede streets, the Police can just say that we’re breaching Public Order Act”.
“That will add up to breaching Public Order Act, and that isn’t what we need to do; we need to draw government’s attention to the deplorable roads without fundamentally appearing as though we are violating the law.”
The MP addressed disturbed protestors while a close by untarred street had been impeded with burning tires.
Xavier-Sosu is expected to appear in court on Monday November 9 to respond to charges of obstructing highway and causing damage to public property proffered against him.
Meanwhile, African Editors sources have confirmed that the Madina Lawmaker has not been served the the writ of summons.
