9,556 teachers fail 2023 licensure exams

In the recent 2023 edition of the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE), a total of 9,556 teachers unfortunately did not achieve a passing score. This accounts for approximately 47.4 percent of the candidates.

On a more positive note, the number of teachers who successfully passed the examination this year was 10,625, representing 52.6 percent.

These statistics were shared in a press release by Dennis Osei-Owusu, the Public Relations Officer for the National Teaching Council (NTC), which was circulated to African Editors. Overall, a total of 20,181 candidates participated in this year’s examination.
