Ghana Gas debunks leadership feud claims, reffirms strong Board-Management relations

Ghana Gas rejects reports of internal division, highlights operational gains
The Management of Ghana National Gas Company Limited has strongly dismissed recent social media reports alleging a rift between its Chief Executive Officer, Judith Adjobah Blay, and the Board of Directors chaired by Kofi Totobi Quakyi.
According to the company, the publications are entirely false and appear to be deliberate attempts to create the impression of conflict within the leadership of the state-owned energy company. Management described the claims as misleading and intended to sow discord where none exists.
Board and Management united in purpose
Ghana Gas emphasized that relations between the Board and Management remain strong and are built on mutual respect, professionalism, trust, and a shared vision for the company’s growth and development. Management stated that both leadership structures continue to work closely together in pursuing the strategic objectives of the company. It stressed that suggestions of infighting or tension within the organization are baseless and should be disregarded by the public.
Promotions conducted through due process
Addressing concerns surrounding recent staff promotions, the company clarified that the exercise involved fifty employees and formed part of a broader effort to address long-standing promotion needs, career progression opportunities, and divisional restructuring. Management explained that the promotions followed extensive consultations and deliberations and were carried out with the necessary oversight and support of the Board of Directors. The company rejected attempts to portray the exercise as a source of controversy or internal disagreement.
Claims of chaos described as misleading
Ghana Gas also pushed back against reports suggesting that the company is experiencing instability or operational challenges. Management said such claims exist only in the imagination of individuals determined to undermine the company’s achievements and progress. The company maintained that its operations remain stable and focused on delivering value to the nation’s energy sector.
Significant increase in gas production
As evidence of its progress, Ghana Gas highlighted a major increase in production throughput. The company reported that output has risen from a historic average of 100 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCF/D) to approximately 120 MMSCF/D.
According to management, this improvement has strengthened fuel supply to downstream consumers, enhanced national energy security, and contributed to greater stability within Ghana’s power sector.
Operational efficiency driving national benefits
The company further noted that improvements in plant availability and operational efficiency under the current Board and Management have helped moderate fuel costs for power producers and industrial users across the country.
These achievements, management said, demonstrate that Ghana Gas remains a focused and well-managed institution effectively delivering on its mandate to support national development through reliable gas processing and supply.
Commitment to good governance and energy security
Looking ahead, Ghana Gas reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability, sound corporate governance, and operational excellence. Management pledged to continue working closely with the Board of Directors to advance the company’s strategic goals and contribute meaningfully to securing Ghana’s energy future. The company stated that its leadership remains united in supporting Ghana’s broader national development agenda and ensuring the continued growth of the country’s energy sector.
