Wonder Victor Kutor files nomination to contest NDC Deputy National Communications Officer position
Aspirant Wonder Victor Kutor Pledges Capacity Building, Grassroots Communication and Digital Reforms
A member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Wonder Victor Kutor, has officially filed his nomination to contest the position of Deputy National Communications Officer ahead of the party’s National Delegates Congress scheduled for December 19, 2026. Kutor is seeking to bring renewed energy, innovation and efficiency to the party’s communication machinery, with a proposed agenda focused on strengthening communication structures, improving information dissemination and equipping grassroots communicators with the requisite knowledge and skills to effectively project the party’s message.
Capacity Building for Grassroots Communicators
A major component of Kutor’s vision is the introduction of regular orientation and capacity-building programmes for party communicators across the country. According to him, equipping communicators with adequate knowledge of government policies, programmes and achievements is essential to ensuring effective public engagement and promoting a better understanding of the government’s agenda. Speaking after filing his nomination, Kutor emphasised the importance of investing in the human resource base of the party’s communication structures.
“We must train people as well. The next policy has to do with orientation and capacity-building workshops,” he stated.
He explained that grassroots communicators play a critical role in the party’s political mobilisation efforts, particularly through door-to-door campaigns and direct engagement with residents in their communities.
“It’s very important because these are the people who will be doing the door-to-door campaigns for us. They will go to the various homes to engage residents. So we need to train them to understand government business,” he added.
Building on Existing Grassroots Initiatives
Kutor also highlighted some of his previous interventions aimed at strengthening communication and organisational capacity at the grassroots level. He cited training programmes he had organised for branch executives in the Ejisu-Kwabre area of the Ashanti Region, as well as branch communication officers in the Agotime Ziope Constituency in the Volta Region. These initiatives, he believes, demonstrate his commitment to developing a well-informed and professionally equipped communication network capable of effectively communicating the party’s policies and defending its record.
Targeted Support for Serial Callers
Another key aspect of Kutor’s proposed agenda is the provision of targeted support for serial callers who contribute to the NDC’s communication efforts on radio and other media platforms. He recognises the important role these individuals play in shaping public discourse, responding to political developments and presenting the party’s positions on national issues. His proposal seeks to strengthen their contribution by providing the necessary support to enable them to communicate the party’s message more effectively.
Proposed NDC Official Website
In a move towards improving the party’s digital communication infrastructure, Kutor is also proposing the establishment of an official NDC website. The proposed platform would serve as a central source of information on the party’s activities, policies, programmes and other important developments. The initiative is expected to provide an additional avenue for information dissemination, enhance public access to accurate party information and strengthen the NDC’s presence in the digital space.
December 19 National Delegates Congress
The NDC is scheduled to hold its 9th National Delegates Congress on December 19, 2026, in the Greater Accra Region.
More than 9,000 delegates are expected to participate in the congress, which will provide an opportunity for the party to elect national officers to steer its affairs.
Kutor’s decision to contest the Deputy National Communications Officer position comes as the party prepares for the important internal electoral exercise.
A Campaign Focused on Effective Communication
With his proposed emphasis on grassroots capacity building, support for serial callers and improved digital communication, Wonder Victor Kutor is positioning his candidacy around strengthening the party’s ability to communicate effectively with its members and the Ghanaian public. His vision is anchored in the belief that an effective communication structure must be built on knowledgeable communicators, strong grassroots engagement and accessible information platforms.
As the NDC approaches its December 19, 2026, National Delegates Congress, Kutor is seeking the mandate of delegates to contribute to the development of a more coordinated, informed and effective party communication system.
