Ghana Gas CEO tours manufacturing firms to boost service delivery

Strengthening industrial partnerships in Ghana’s energy sector
The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana National Gas Company Limited, Judith Adjobah Blay, has embarked on a strategic tour of manufacturing firms in the Western Region as part of efforts to enhance service delivery and deepen collaboration with key industrial players. The visit reflects Ghana Gas’ broader commitment to supporting industries that depend heavily on lean gas for their operations.

A critical role in Ghana’s energy value chain
Ghana Gas continues to play a vital role in the country’s energy ecosystem by processing and supplying lean gas for electricity generation and industrial use. Its operations are essential to sustaining productivity in major manufacturing hubs, making it a cornerstone of Ghana’s industrial growth agenda.
Since assuming office a year ago, Ms. Blay has placed strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement. Her approach has focused on gaining a deeper understanding of the operational challenges and needs of industries reliant on gas supply, with previous engagements covering both Tema and Sekondi-Takoradi industrial zones.

Extending engagement to the Western Region
Following an earlier familiarisation tour in the Tema enclave, the CEO has now expanded the initiative to the Western Region. On Tuesday, April 21, she led a delegation to visit selected manufacturing companies, engaging directly with their management teams and observing production processes firsthand. The tour provided valuable insights into the extent to which reliable gas supply underpins industrial operations and productivity.

Insights from key manufacturing firms
The delegation’s first stop was Jintao Sanitary Ware Company Limited, where they observed the production of ceramic products such as wash-hand basins and toilet seats. The visit highlighted the importance of consistent energy supply in maintaining production efficiency.
At Wangkang Ceramics, management stressed the need for a reliable and cost-effective gas supply. They appealed for a review of gas pricing to help sustain operations and remain competitive in the market. The team also visited Twyford Group, Ghana’s largest ceramics manufacturing company. The Managing Director, Mr. Li Wei, expressed appreciation for Ghana Gas’ consistent supply and ongoing support. He further requested additional gas supply to power a new glass manufacturing line currently under construction, expected to begin full operations in August next year.

Driving growth through reliable energy supply
The tour underscores Ghana Gas’ commitment to building strong, mutually beneficial relationships with industrial stakeholders. It also highlights the growing dependence of Ghana’s manufacturing sector on stable and efficient energy supply. As industries expand and diversify, ensuring reliable gas delivery will remain crucial to boosting production, enhancing competitiveness, and driving economic growth across the country.
