Rwanda Hosts Regional Nuclear Power Training
Rwanda is hosting an International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Regional Training on Stakeholder Engagement in Nuclear Power Programmes, bringing together experts and participants from across Africa. The five-day training is taking place from 21–25 September 2026 and focuses on strengthening practical approaches to stakeholder engagement, public participation and trust-building in the development of nuclear power programmes.

Ghanaian Expert Participates as IAEA Communications Expert
Bellona Gerard Vittor-Quo, Director of Public Affairs at Nuclear Power Ghana, is participating in the ongoing training as an IAEA Expert on Communications from Ghana. Her participation contributes to efforts to equip participants with practical communication approaches for engaging stakeholders and the public throughout the various stages of nuclear power programme development.

Focus on Public Trust and Participation
The training highlights the importance of effective communication and meaningful public participation in building understanding and trust around nuclear energy programmes. Participants from across Africa are sharing expertise and approaches aimed at strengthening stakeholder engagement as countries explore, develop or advance nuclear power programmes. The training is being held in Rwanda from 21 to 25 September 2026.
