Gov’t allegedly asks Metro TV to sack Bridget Otoo

Former Deputy Information Minister Felix Kwakye has alleged that Ace Broadcast Journalist Bridget Otoo has been shown the exit hours after her appointment by Metro TV upon intense pressure from President Akufo-Addo and government machinery.

According to him, Bridget Otoo has been critical of Akufo-Addo-Bawumia-led Administration on burning issues facing Ghanaians.

The former TV3 News Anchor although was taken through a mock-run at Metro TV to takeover the anchoring of evening news amid publicity, trending and got social users talking.

However, reports suggest that the presidency and persons on the corridors of power are working hard behind the scene to get the veteran News Anchor booted out to minimise further criticism of the governing party.

A Ghanaian who jumped at the news told African Editors ”

Uncanny events at Metro TV.

The Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government is taking intolerance to dizzying heights. After brazenly closing down Radio Gold and Muntie FM and waging an open war of attrition against Joy FM and Multimedia, they now threaten Metro TV because they employed a news anchor who has been critical of government?

What a shocking display of tryranny!”.
