Impunity in Ghana: IGP will do better job- Kwesi Pratt
Managing Editor of Insight Newspaper Kwesi Pratt Junior has expressed confidence in the capability of Acting IGP Dr. George Dampare based on his approach in the line of duty upon assumption of power.
The latest thumps up from the veteran Journalist Kwesi Pratt comes at the period many have lauded the IGP for being on top of issues, exhibiting professional competence and stamping his authority devoid of bias after he rounded up Rev. Owusu Bempah and 4 others believed to be the spiritual counsellor of President Akufo-Addo.
The media has also commended him for issuing apology to the fraternity after some journalists were attacked and denied access to Rev. Bempah’s court proceedings on Monday.
Speaking in an interview monitored by African Editors on Wednesday 15 September 2021 in Accra, Kwesi Pratt said “This IGP appears to enforce the law irrespective of who is involved. I trust the current IGP to do better job”.
“But my fear is that, will he be approved to continue particularly when he’s acting?”.
Meanwhile, NPP Communicator Eric Amoako Twum wants the police to intensify patrols on highways. The phenomenon where the go to the driver, use torch to check front of a car and allow them to continue speeding is below standards. Elsewhere, that’s not what’s done”.
